What is the Forest Area Arts Council? The Forest Area Arts Council (FAAC) is comprised of local and seasonal residents, some of whom are artists, others who are ordinary people who want to be involved in cultural events at the local level or who wish to develop skills or talents at workshops and classes. We encourage Forest Area People to become members of FAAC and join us in our efforts to bring new opportunities and ideas into the community. We are in search of local artists and artisans of all callings who are willing to share their talents by teaching classes and workshops in the Forest County Area.
You don’t have to be an artist to be a member. We hope that membership in the Forest Area Arts Council will be of interest, value and benefit to non-artists as well. Anyone interested in or recognizing the value of the arts is encouraged to join and, if they wish, to take an active part in the Council. The Arts Council was formed to encourage an appreciation and participation in the arts, to promote and lend assistance to local artists, to provide educational opportunities and make available artistic entertainment to our rural area. To an artist, the FAAC offers networking opportunities with other artists, exposure through local art shows, fairs and competitions. We encourage our state representatives to support legislation that the benefits or promotes the arts and artists and seek assistance from our representatives on a local level. Forest County and the surrounding area have a wealth of talent that is mostly unseen. We wish to encourage our area artists, help them find materials and outlets for their art and share their expertise with others by teaching classes.
